This item fills the void of a factory safety on a Marlin 1894, 1895 or 336 lever action rifle if a person decides to remove their rifle's cross bolt safety. This piece fits all Marlin centerfire lever-action rifles. It does not fit the Marlin 39A .22 caliber rifles.
This item adds a functional saddle ring to the left side of the receiver on a Marlin lever action. The right side of the receiver where the piece is installed will appear as a mock slot head screw. If installed correctly, the ring can be used to secure the rifle into a scabbard or as a single point sling attachment point. Please read the detailed installation instructions in our "Blog" section which are also linked below.
This part comes with a 5/64" allan wrench for installation and an 8-32 x 3/16" set screw.

Determining whether disabling the factory cross-bolt safety is appropriate is the responsibility of the firearm's owner or user. Beartooth Mercantile does not recommend removal of the factory safeties. None of Beartooth Mercantile's products are required to remove the Marlin factory safety which can be done so without purchasing any of Beartooth Mercantile's products. Beartooth Mercantile's “safety deletes” only fill the hole left after a person has removed the safety from their rifle and do not provide any mechanical repair, alteration or modification to the action or function of the rifle. By purchasing the products sold on this site, the customer is assuming all responsibility and consequences that may result from altering the factory cross-bolt safety or any other factory supplied parts that comes with the firearm. Disabling the factory cross-bolt safety can result in an increased possibility of accidental discharge that could result in injury or worse. Additional caution and special attention should be used when using a firearm with a disabled cross-bolt safety. Always treat a firearm as if it could discharge at any moment to avoid accidents. By accepting these terms, the customer is taking all of the responsibility for any changes they make to their firearm and shall not hold Beartooth Mercantile, LLC or any of its owners or associates responsible for any damages personal or otherwise that may occur. These damages could include any personal injury, bodily harm, harm of others or property damages. Safety deletes are for expert use only and not recommended for the average sportsman or shooter.
