Beartooth Mercantile Model 1895B
This rifle began as a Marlin 1895 45-70 gov. made by Remington – Marlin. It has been customized to test some new ideas and experiment with brass and brass colored accents on a Marlin rifle. The action was reworked and is better than original factory condition. The cartridges feed correctly and smoothly with the addition of a Beartooth brass follower.
Brass was incorporated into the stock with a solid brass grip cap on the buttstock. The trigger and forend cap are both gold cerakoted and the sights are Skinner Express sights made from solid brass. The magazine tube end cap is also made from solid brass as well as the rear sight dovetail filler.
A custom lever was made for this rifle to replicate the older style of Marlin 1895 pistol-grip levers from prior to 1950. The lever has a squared-off look similar to Marlin straight grips, rather than the slender oval of the more modern Marlin 1895 pistol-grips. This lever is a nice classic compliment to the rifle when coupled with the look of a color-case hardened receiver.
The factory stocks have been reworked and epoxy-bedded which gives the rifle a solid, tight feel. The forend stock is a narrow, cowboy-length forend rather than the wide and longer stock common to the modern rifles.

We used this rifle to test some new ideas and experiment with different accessories and looks. This is the first time we have used Skinner Sights on a build or used this much brass. Overall, we are happy with this build, but are moving on to other projects. We are presently offering this rifle for a reasonable price of $2900 plus $50 shipping by UPS.
The final price when paying by check or money order would be at a 5% discounted price of $2755 and include free shipping. Sales tax must be added to all Wyoming sales.
